Assignment Reminder
Your Assignment, due on July 12 is a Letter to the Editor of the Philippine Star. The letter is your opinion about the Editor-in-Chief's editorial, from any PS newspaper starting July 5-July 10. You can either argue for or against the editorial of the newspaper, but bear in mind your tone and points of argument in your letter.
The assignment must be typewritten in a letter sized bond paper. Prepare a legal sized white envelope and a stamp. We are going to send your letters thru snail mail so don't forget to bring the items I have told you to bring!
See you in class!

What Makes an Interesting Blog?
After setting up your group blogs (in about 15 minutes or less) you may find yourself dazed and utterly confused as to how you can populate your group blog with publishable articles. Here are some of my suggestions for you:
1. New words you learned (either in class or during your day, preferably the former)
I told you one of my favorite words, "ensconce". Use it! Use it everyday and share it with your friends! We can help spread awareness and in popularizing this rare word and increase people's vocabularies at the same time.
Another suggestion is, use it as your title, and relate everyday mundane events to the title of your article--by doing that, you can even produce a nice short story.
So even now, recall what transpired today and bring out the Merriam-Webster in you.
2. Picturize!
There is no such word yet, but I got your attention right? Next suggestion for an interesting blog is to post a picture that is provocative--by that we mean something that will make the viewer want to comment.
However, please be careful of the type of picture you post. Do not post something controversial nor anything demeaning of a person (even if it is your own photo). Just post pictures that will tickle your viewers imagination.
3. Gossip is not the only thing worth sharing
There are so many things you can share to the world aside from spam letters and gossip-- Brain ticklers, trivia, quotations and even obscure artists' works!
I have discovered 90% of my playlist in blogs and I am still reading them to increase my music collection. So if you want to share your passion in this blog, go ahead and share them with us!
Remember what I told you in class, this is the place where you can express yourself creatively and actively about the things you've learned in class (among other things) and so with this blog, I hope you never run out of source material.
Go ahead and experiment! Explore!

Ok, after that pick a basic template (you can change and customize it later). You can add your pics and other designs in the DESIGN tab later.
After successfully registering your blog, go to "Edit Blog" and then click on the "Design" tab to begin customizing your blog.
There are a lot of gadgets available for you. You can start adding them on your blog now to make it more interesting.
Next step is to add your individual profiles. Go to "Posting" tab and below choose "Edit Pages".
Click, "New Page" and start creating a profile for each member of your group. Don't forget to add your individual photos on the very beginning of each profile.
After that, edit your Group information in "About Me" Page. Go back to Design and edit "About Me".
Instead of "About Me" write "About Us" because your blog is a group blog. Put information about your group members or anything you would like people to know about your blog.
Click Save.
Then click "View Blog" to preview what you have done so far.
I will check your preliminary outputs either TUE or THU depending on our University's internet connection. It will be graded. See you in class!
